Can those of you who went to OSH give a short rundown of the coolest things you saw at OSH for those of us who didn't go? Could be anything, an airplane, a new product, anything.

The (soon to be) new Dynon looks promising.

The new Dynon was probably it...we went back there twice, maybe 3 times (it all blends together). Next 6 months should be interesting with it, to see what happens with delivery/pricing.

I bought a Halo headset, the thing is sweet, looking forward to using it at work Tues.

I thought the LED light advancements were interesting: more and more power/performance for such a low pull. Make your own judgement on which company/product best suits you, but definitely look into them.

The Cirrus Jet made my pants go crazy.

Along the same lines, the "Bomber Girls" and their calendar are high on the list as well! Laughing

Joe-

After I heard you, Chad and Brad talk about the Bomber Girls on Thursday night, I just had to go see them on Friday. They must of had different girls out on Friday because one of them had armpit hair Surprised Surprised Surprised

To keep this thread on topic, the new Dynon EFIS was definitely cool, as well as their new architecture of adding multiple AHRS's and pitot/static inputs. I was a little disappointed that the new EFIS and old EFIS's can't talk to each other. I am still waiting to figure out what "Dynon Priced" means. Their mock up EFIS on display had the best screen/bezel/buttons/joystick knobs out of all the vendors there, IMHO.

Grand Rapids said in their fall software release they will have a Angle Of Attack feature on their EFIS. At first it will be calculated, and later on they will release a module that will interface to the Dynon pitot.

Did anybody check out the Advanced Flight System's "Flight Deck?" Id be interested in hearing more about that, especially with respect to using it as a MFD.

I didn't stop at the Dynon booth, but the other guys were pretty gaga over it.

Didn't see/stop at AFS either... Embarassed

One of the coolest things for me was the rocket racing demo. I didn't think it would be all that intriguing, but it was pretty cool to watch. Of course, there's no practicality to it, but going straight up with a boost of rocket propulsion was sweet!

Seeing John Travolta's 707 was a highlight for me.

As far as products go...hmmm...have to think about that for a sec...

I had been privy to a bit of AFS Flight Deck info earlier, so it wasn't that "earth shattering" to me at OSH. It is still my #1 choice...even the 3500 without the Flight Deck upgrades.

But the Dynon 16:9 ratio, and high res displays/shading, dual AHRS/redundancy was pretty cool. It just looks good. The web sites can give a better technical description than I can.

I actually thought the physical feel (buttons/joystick) of the AFS was better than the Dynon, just my opinion.

I can say that I would prefer a user selectable HITS, as I don't think it's a good way to display the info. Plain old flight director, please.

I would also like to be able to display the EFIS, Map/HSI and engine instruments (at least basic ones) simultaniously. The new Dynaon cannot do this...without a separate -10A

The coolest things that I saw were:

1) Raptor demo - the afterburner perfected.
2) Dynon's new display - very sweet.
3) The sea of RV's!

Since I am just starting the fuse and I pretty much know what I want to put in the panel and what engine to use... the vendors didn't do much for me... other than the new display from Dynon. On that note... Joe... can you tell us all what a CDI is?

Looking at your camp empties pile, I think "Chronic Daily Intake" fits. Chad - any chance of posting the Bomber girl pics - I missed it too when I went the next day. Just someone there older than the plane with a penis!

Carl,

I think I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 pics of Osh this year. A few of the Bomber Girls. I will let you know when I get them out to the web. Mine are rear shots only... darn the luck right? hehe. Chad has face shots....

That reminds me. Anyone remember the "flight crew" that came in with Glacier Girl in '05? If I remember correctly Patti saw those pictures. They no longer exist Mr. Green

I was just surfing the web and noticed that Van's has another engine special, which is even better if you package it with a prop. I hope they do this next year when I will actually be ready to make the purchase. I hate when the timing is off.

Oh well....
