Re: RV Kit orders

The "Finish Kit" as those of you who have already built RV-kits is basically installing all of the aircraft's systems, ie, the fuel system, brake/hydraulic system, flight control systems, etc. I find this section of the build to be VERY rewarding. Starting at the fuel tank and fabricating the fuel l...

Re: RV Kit orders

OBVIOUSLY, my post above is no longer accurate. My Empanage, both Wings, Horizontal Stab, Vertical Stab, and all Flight Controls are complete. Just finished the Fuselage (biggest time-consumer so far) last week, and just started on the Finish Kit. Looking forward to the "Firewall-Forward" section of...

Re: LACK OF INTEREST???

Hello Again Everyone, (in particular); (Captain John), It has been another two years and, a positive by-product of Covid in my life is my progress on my "12" project. Just finished the fuselage and started on the Finish Kit. Ordered my engine months ago and still awaiting notification of shipment. M...

Re: Third class and light sport

Third Class Medical reform is not all that it was cracked up to be. My third class medical was due to expire on May 1st (coincidentally the same day as BasicMed was to begin). After making an appointment 3 months before my medical was to expire, with the same Medical Examiner that has done my 2nd/3r...

Re: LACK OF INTEREST???

Van obviously hasn't lost interest in the model, as he recently made some MUCH appreciated changes in the RV-12, exchanging the standard engine from the Rotax 912 ULS to the Rotax 912 IS Sport, a much improved change, IMHO (in spite of the $5000 increase in price). Anyone else agree or disagree?

Re: LACK OF INTEREST???

SORRY..... I am referring to RV-12 posts. There obviously are posts regarding other models. Is there no longer any interest in the RV-12 since the basic-med passed congress?

My pleasure CJ, after all, from looking at fotos of your RV-7's first flight, I realized that we are/were almost neighbors, I grew up in Walpole, home of Massachusetts' "big house".

Don't know the next time I'll be in Westminster or Baltimore (being that I'm on the "other" coast-I grew up on the East coast, but took my discharge from the AF on the West coast...winters a SOOOO much better), but I will definitely try to look up Mike and Spike whenever I attend any EAA events and ...

Thanks CJ for your response, and THANK YOU, Mike Bullock. (and sorry for giving Spike full credit for your fine website... thought HE is ALSO listed as a "chief rivet banger" and I'm sure he also deserves a sincere THANK YOU also). THANK YOU to both of you! And WILL DO reference the "buy Mike a beer...

2-Cents Worth???

I don't see anywhere on this website for me to add my "2-cents worth." No, I'm not talking about "my opinion" or "my questions", THAT comes almost automatically without much fore-thought. I'm talking about annual "Donations" or "Contributions/Dues". This site obviously takes someone (Spike, I think)...

CJ,
Just out of curiosity, why do you suggests that I peel it all off now, does it get harder to peel off as it ages? Even if I use my wife's hair dryer to soften it later when I want to remove it???

Basic, basic construction question.

This is probably one of the most basic questions that anyone has ever asked the forum, but I see in a lot of construction photos that guys have taken of their projects in various stages of construction and I often see the blue vinyl protective covering left on the aluminum sheet to protect the proje...

Third class light sport

You are probably correct that if the third-class medical goes the way of the light-sport that several, if not many light-sport kit manufacturers will probably go out of business. That said, I very highly doubt Vans will be one of them. Vans is the leader in aluminum airplane kits and their operation...

The Hangar

One BIG plus in RV-12's favor is that it is the only RV model that Van's Aircraft builds, as an S-LSA. $127,000 will buy you a brand-new factory built airplane. Has anyone checked the price of a brand-new Cessna 172 lately... about twice the price of the RV-12. Sure, it has 2 extra seats, but it is ...

The EASIEST WAY, Paulie, is to delete the link on YOUR computer to the VAF website, and don't return to it. Rather simple. BTW, what did they do or say that got you sooooo upset?
