Buying a flying RV is a GREAT idea!
It keeps good airplanes flying, and provides great value to the buyer.
We've done it twice now. You must be an educated buyer, but I think that applies to any aircraft purchase, not just an EAB.

Unless your are talking Gallons Per Month, you're doing it wrong.

Re: This is why I come here!
Steve, my online friend. Your loft plan is estimated at $3.8 AMU's! I bet you paid less. Still gonna do it, I need the storage. Doug is a good person, with a good family, he just draws lines, and he is allowed to do that, as an owner of a business, not that it has anything to do with beliefs. You mi...

I DO! Sorry for no follow up, especially since I hate as much in the online world. This is how the panel ended up after the gut job: https://i.imgur.com/CbVVdObl.jpg The 'OMG! Circuit Breakers?' referenced above turned into a drop down fuse panel on a hinge in front of the left seat, as suggested by...

That is the location of choice for many. I have had no issues at all after using that location for several hundred hours with two different airplanes.

Re: Newbie with Pneumatic Squeezer Woes
Yep, that's home. If you arrive during business hours, you can always get a ride in the county truck over to the north access gate to shorten the walk. If Hemmingway's gets old, there is Knoxie's (high end) and the Crab Shack (low end) a shorter distance away. But no Bay views at either of those.

Re: Newbie with Pneumatic Squeezer Woes
I never take shortcuts when buying tools for my RV or any other home project. Says the man who posted a picture of Harbor Freight derived wing jacks. So, will Chinese pistons make metric or SAE size holes in your wing when your Rube Goldberg setup fails? :P Just busting on you my friend. I have the...

Awesome! Wade has mad skilz, you have mad travels. A match made in heaven.
I subscribed to his channel. I never do crap like that. Looking forward to the series, I did not even cheat by looking at his 'raw' videos.

I like all the pro reasons, I say yes. M'lady got work off and will be there, she is mostly vegetarian these days, so we can all taunt her with bloody flesh.

Just a thought if you do pull for a bench power test, the SX will auto-switch between two 12v sources, I would apply power individually to both inputs as part of the troubleshooting.

Scratch that plan, dammit. Too many issues unrelated to the rebuild came up, not to mention a tornado which JUST missed the hangar. You folks have fun, see you next year!

Okay, the long instrument / electrical makeover is withing striking distance of being done. I was able to start the engine today, need to get a tach signal but have a good idea on that after some research tonight. M'lady got called out today, so she should be good to go for a Wednesday morning depar...

No dog until 80?! This is why I'm not married to a dream killer. I recently adopted a Great Pyrenees (see Leandra puppies on Google). I can't imagine life without a dog, they are one of the best things in life. There may be cracks in the 'not until 80' timeline. Recent text she sent to my daughter,...

Aircraft: .55 lb to 55 lb must be registered with the FAA Pilot: Fly for fun or education anything up to 55 lb with no certification. I did my Commercial Drone Certificate last month, since I had to go to the FSDO anyway to renew my CFI. Fairly painless, you never know when someone will call with a ...

Re: This is why I come here!
Panel back together? Whatcha doing to it? Pictures??? I had about 70 AMU's of improvements I had collected, decided it was time to stop flying (dammit!) and start installing. Baby steps, engine monitor was first project, since there were other engine things to do. I should be able to knock an EIS i...
