Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

planning to attempt 75 miles on the Zizzo speedster. basically ride 38 miles away, then you have to come back. :) my lowest weight has been 166.8 lb but the reduction is slowing. the goal is still 165 lb. 168 lb today. it seems that I can get all the calories I need by following OMAD (one-meal-a-day...

Ham Radio License Renew

It has been 10 years since I obtained my ham radio license. It was time to renew my license, so I went here: https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsEntry/licManager/login.jsp

You need this in order to operate APRS.

Good for another 10 years.

Re: a couple printed widgets

Version 2, Rudder Gust Lock, Rope Link.... I slotted the holes in the links at the bolt side to make it easier to fasten the cam. It works well and I like it so I thought I would convert to a stainless-steel bolt and nut and add silicon o-rings for the cam lock retention to make it snazzy. :) SS is ...

Well, it's a tail dragger so this occurs more often. What about a modern style nose wheel configuration (like a fighter jet); easier to land, better visibility, lower insurance rates.... https://asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/519615 https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-repgen/api/Aviation/ReportMain/GenerateN...

Well, he was trying to get from Atlanta Regional to Lakeland, Florida, during the Sun 'n Fun event. For some reason, he was required to hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes at Lakeland before the ground loop. Hey, you really need to be careful after such a long hold because the fatigue factor is real . Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

It was a typical late spring day in Ohio—warm, overcast, with some showers—but I decided to head to the Mad River. The water level was up bit, making for a perfect run. I saw only one other guy, and he had just caught a trout, lifting it to show me. It was black-speckled on silver and absolutely bea...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

I'm getting the bike ready for trout fishing and switched to an inflatable PFD (no whitewater) to make it less bulky. The Mad River, Ohio's top spot for trout fishing, is a spring fed river where brown trout reproduce naturally and are also stocked. For my water shoes, I filed down the pedal pegs on...

Re: a couple printed widgets

I am kicking around an idea for someone that requested a side headset bracket with an arm that swings fore and aft 180 degrees. I don't know if this is printable or will work, but I will give it a try. BTW, the dog stake, 1.1 lb, has been hanging for almost four years in the hangar held by 3M Dual L...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

It was a beautiful day on the Mad River in Urbana, Ohio. The bike rafting plan worked perfectly. The water was clear and cool. I ended the day with dinner at Abuel's Kitchen (Google rating 4.9), and it was fantastic. The whole day felt like a slice of paradise. I didn't work very hard today. :) I fe...

Alpacka Caribou raft on a Zizzo Liberte folding bike, in a Van's RV9A.... The final, final, packing fit is done. I like to know exactly where everything will be secured and how best to pack it, so I took an extra day to repeatedly pack and unpack. I’m sure there will still be a few small surprises, ...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

well, there you go... some acoustics engineer making literally millions of dollars with cat-ears for biking. I had to wait about 3 weeks for these because they were on backorder. wind noise is real and has been measured to be louder than a lawn mower on a breezy day while bike riding and it is painf...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

A final test fit of the local bike rafting gear with everything strapped on. The weather looks promising over the next couple of days. I’m sure I’ll learn something along the way. :) I plan to do a couple of local test runs before tackling bigger waters. The PFD sure takes up a lot of space, and the...

Pancreatic Cancer (PC) - get the weight off - fly longer

Pancreatic cancer is currently the third leading cause of cancer death in the United States, and epidemiologic projections indicate that it will be second only to lung cancer in its lethality by 2025 . Two factors contribute to this high mortality: 1) the fact that most cancers have already spread ...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

It was a misty morning, but I decided to check it out and discovered I could fly IBL (In-Between Layers) in the clear. :) The weather was perfect for a bike ride, so I cruised over to the Air Force Museum. It was quite busy, but instead of going inside, I explored the nearby Memorial Park. There’s s...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

It was a simple yet pleasant day. I rode to Caesar Ford Park on a new trail to me, which was remarkably smooth. I spent about an hour on the mountain bike trails; it was the first time this spring that the conditions were dry enough, and they proved to be excellent. After the ride, I found the hot t...
