seat belt side restrainer. needs to be longer and is now narrower. I'll test it for a while. old https://i.postimg.cc/qRqgj2fp/cap6.png https://i.postimg.cc/7PmrqjTt/IMG20221108165758.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/JnSJXpsf/cap4.png ****************** new https://i.postimg.cc/d1f3XDvr/cap7.png https://i.p...

Re: finally - an accurate tire inflator

the HF portion that connects to the valve stem was wearing and flaking, making contact difficult. also, I was concerned the flakes would get into the valve stem. the long strait end of the HF inflator made it difficult for me to inflate the motorcycles. if you can keep it going, that is the best. sq...

finally - an accurate tire inflator

cheap Harbor Freight inflator for several years but it didn't last. my wife bought this Milton inflator (red hose) for me for Christmas. this thing is great and I'm happy to use it. easy to read and has good repeatable measurements. it seems I am always inflating some tire: cars, motorcycles, airpla...

Zizzo Liberte & Forte (2023) - folding bike

a couple more observations of the Zizzo Forte. the overall frame wall thickness is increased (tap test) over the Liberte, and some feature dimensions of the frame are bigger. the Forte wheel rims are wider than the Liberte. the Forte is a significantly different bike and much stronger but heavier th...

Re: Rudder - FEA analysis

I try to do something with this each day. all rivet holes have been blanked. I am running some FEA vibration test panels to understand how best to fasten these sheet metal components in the model. I don't have the CBUSH element available, so I am testing coupled nodes, beams and springs to simulate ...

Re: Zizzo Liberte & Forte (2023) - folding bike

Zizzo Forte - folding bike compared to Liberte doublers added to the Forte frame (green) to increase the bike load rating from 240 to 300 lb. Zizzo panniers look good. fill the panniers with Twinkies are the nearest convivence store! the Zizzo bike bag is very high quality but weighs 6 lb. (but ulti...

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

Springfield OH ... what a gem! bike trails and paths all over the town and nice little shops to eat. I also visited the the Springfield Museum of Art. it was -6C this morning but it warmed to 3C during the day. it was cool on the bike for the first 15 minutes but then I warmed and needed to open my ...

Re: Rudder - FEA analysis

deleting the rivets holes for natural frequency modeling. I've settled on the approach for this analysis. now to execute it.

does this stuff work with tubes? any concern about the valve stem seam seal becoming "unsealable" over time?

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

getting ready for a cold ride on Thurs, -6C low, 3C high. trying to find my min temperature for riding this bike. I plan to cover about 20 miles. I find I loose 10 psi tire pressure after a couple days, so I topped these off to the max pressure, 110 psi. the bag is good because it keeps the plane cl...

Re: a couple printed widgets

getting ready for a bike ride on Thursday but the low is predicted to be -6C and 3C for the high, so colder. I swapped my 1.5-inch cowl air dams for 2.0-inch. the clock turned 7:04 when I began and just turned 7:08 when I finished, so 4 minutes to swap at a relaxed pace and a torque check. CHT's rem...

Rudder - FEA analysis

I have not done much large sheet metal FEA analysis before, but I thought I would give it a try. say hello to shell and cbush elements, :). the goal is to improve my FEA skills and to complete some parametric studies for natural frequency response and weight sensitivity. I'll start with the RV6 rudd...

CAD - sheet metal box

I have not worked with CAD - sheet metal much, but I thought I would try to improve my skills. this is similar to a simple alum box I made years ago to cover my fuel filter ahead of the fuel pump. it would have been easier if I had the CAD. design then flatten the pattern to have the flat cut shape....

Green County Airport (I19) = The Aerial Gateway to the US Air Force Museum. the line guys said they have 2 cars for guests to take to the museum. official limit is 2 hrs, but they don't mind if it's out for the entire afternoon. you need more than 2 hrs at the Air Force Museum, trust me. he said thi...

Condor tires?

I thought I would keep a set of main wheel tires on the shelf and purchased Condor tires because there was not much else available. my current tires are Michelin. I don't have any experience with Condor tires, but I will learn soon enough. https://i.postimg.cc/gcTLHwBf/IMG20221125151606.jpg https://...

painted - flap link

I think the flap link looks better painted. instead of painter masking it off, have him paint it because it will blend in with the aircraft. this is where you and your passenger will be climbing in and out and it will be noticed. https://i.postimg.cc/ncpgTzjG/IMG20221125170427.jpg https://i.postimg....

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

my wife said, get me one of those. I think I am going to go with the new 2023 Zizzo Forte (the 2022 Forte gear system is below par, don't buy it) so I can load it up with bags for long distance travel. she can ride my tricked out Liberte. green is my favorite color. why green? .... because grass is ...
