Re: RV9A - Preliminary report - N387E
That is a shame to damage a plane so soon after finishing. I cant imagine the stuff going through that pilots head now. Ugg

Re: what did you do this week - 2024FW8
Looks like a nice trip. I went over the clouds on our trip to Shreveport but I could see on weather it was clear about 30 miles to the west. I am not confident enough to go over if I cant see clear sky somewhere. I would like to get more instruction on IFR flying. It is cloudy so often here that goi...

Re: RV9 - aircraft down - ASN Report
That is a shame. When I landed yesterday the x wind was a little squirrelly and I can see how loss of control can happen.

Re: RV10 - aircraft down - Final Report - N4400K
If it had a pmag or other system that used auto plugs, maybe they dont have the screw on plug wires? I cant imaging flying without secure wires. I hope I am wrong about the pmags. I may consider them when my 500 hour mag rebuild comes up.

Re: RV6 - aircraft down - ASN Report - N30AK
I read that a friend said his wife was not a fan of flying and didnt want him to go far. Not that it makes sense but we all do things for reasons. Some good, some not. Sad situation for all involved. He had lots of guys that knew him at his airport.

That really is a pretty plane. I would like more info on the engine. Looks like a radial but thin?
If you are ever up into Michigan around Mason - KTEW let me know. I have a 9A up here and looking for a bit of good weather to fly!! It has been crap here since before Christmas.

Well, crappy weather up here for another week. Last time I went up about a week ago I was almost instantly in clouds. Took off in one direction and did a 180 and landed the opposite direction. The 10 day forecast shows no flying. Ugg!

I having a good time flying out here in the coldest place on earth. I have 230 hours on my plane now. 190 of that are my hours! Im still trying to figur...

Between 250 and 350 for high temp glue guns.
I think I will try and make one out of a piece of hardwood and small hinge.

Re: Hot Glue Elect Connection
Can you print up one of the molds? As for taking it apart, it would be easier to just cut it out and re do the crimps. Just make sure you have enough extra wire in your runs.

Re: Hot Glue Elect Connection
I found the web site. spliseal.com the molds are pretty expensive. I think it is an interesting idea and i like the screw fastening point but I think a mold would be reasonably easy to make. It may not be as perfect but could seal a connection very well. I may have to give it a try.

Hot Glue Elect Connection
I was not going to watch this video sent by a car friend but did. It looks pretty interesting to seal and make solid a connection. You decide.

Re: Michigan to Louisiana
I got her heated seat wired up today. When I had Abby at Flightline build my seats I had her put the heaters in but never wired them up. That was stupid!! Now I need to get the boots for the aileron tubes. Im thinking of carpeting the seat pan area to help with air leaks. I think the back panel allo...

Michigan to Louisiana
Last Monday my wife and I set off from KTEW - Mason MI to KDTN - Shreveport LA. It was freezing cold - about 20 degrees F and cloudy at 3000. The first hour we had to drop a few times to 2000-2500 to dodge clouds. My RV 9A must have the worst heater of any type of plane ever. I dont think an open co...

Re: RV-15 development costs - significant strain
I believe they should sell the rights to the 15 to another company or group of investors. Vans could still produce the parts if they want but as a sub contractor. It could give them some needed capital to get going and cash flow for the parts produced when it is ready. To use money to develop a futu...

Re: RV9 - aircraft down - ASN report - N998TJ
My vents on the panel close tight. They are the aluminum ones from Stein I think. The hose is where there are leaks. I use tape on the outside covering the openings but it looks pretty crappy. Maybe you can make something that you install from the outside that cuts the air flow off. I do have concer...
