Any hints or suggestions from those that have done this before? Order a new one. I'm serious. #1 gave me all kinds of problems and I ended up cracking two holes. #2 slid in like butter! I think Van's improved the bends on this part. You can see the differences between them in the top picture here ....

Good call. The benefit of the stripmaster is that because of the die it doesn't nick the wire. I got mine, along with a ratcheting crimper, from www.mytoolstore.com.bullojm1 wrote:I am probably gonna bite the bullet and buy a set of Ideal Stripmasters.

Congratulations!!! You will soon find out why the fuselage is so much fun to build.....once you get past the aft thick skin!!! Ditto. A further note... if the sides of the aft skin aren't bent vertically, get a new one. I went through 2 of those (long story) and the second one came bent from Van's ...
