Elevator to HS gap

I decided I would get my elevator horns drilled tonight as I got my bushing to do it over the weekend. I got things down and measured the rod end bearings and got them set to 13/16. I then checked the gap on my elevator to HS where the counterbalnce arms are and they were about 30-40 thousands off, ...

Wow! That actually sound pretty cheap for delivery.

Have fun with the inventory. :) I always think it is a little like Christmas when I was a kid. Get to see what all is in the boxes.

I replaced that one also. Later I was told that edge distance is measured from the center of the hole to the edge and should be 1 1/2 the diameter of the rivet. In other words, one rivet diameter from the edge of the hole to the edge of the material. HAd I known that I would have been okay, I was th...

I drove my Dodge pickup to 200,000 before replacing it and now my son drives it. Still runs great. :) My wife put 210,000 on her Ford Expedition and we finally just sold it and got her a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. I bought another Dodge pickup (yes, it has a hemi). We used to buy a new vehicle every y...

Send them over!

Hey, if they would like to come and visit beautiful Iowa tell them to come on down! I could always use a little help.

That looks great and is about the same stage I am currently at so it really is inspiring! :good job:

That's what I need!

That's one of my next additions to the shop is a fridge. The other thing that would be nice is a few more RV builders close by. All of the people I know in this area are done with theirs already and out flying. Plus I live about 50 miles from all of them out in the sticks. I like it here thou...

Looking good Chad! :good job: I like red so figured it would work well on the stands and matches the Craftsman tool box. Plus I need practice on my painting skills. :o I would like to paint the plane myself but not unless I improve my skills a fair amount. It seem realistic if I just face the fact t...

Add me to the metal stand list.

Well add another person copying the metal stand design. I got the angles on today and will be putting them in place next week hopefully. Thought I would thank everyone who has posted reguarding their stands. I haven't drilled the lower holes yet as I'm not sure where they need to be yet. http://agfp...

I like the wood stove!!!

:) CJ
Actually it is gas. I thought about wood but decided I could better spend my time building. :)

Usually the thermostat is set to 60 and then when I go out to work I bump it up to 68 and it is just about right.

When I was in the shop this morning I snapped a couple of images of how I used my crates before coming in for lunch. I made a shelf from the spar box and used the other box as part of a worktable. I can still store skins and stuff in the box used in the table and it comes in pretty handy. http://agf...

Chad and some of the other guys that built the metal stands went and spoiled me and made me think I needed some also. I think I will like them. :) Have fun on the inventorying. Don't make it harder than it is.

Okay, I have to jump in here. We carried mine into the shop from the trailer. Neither crate was bad at all. They are big, but really not that heavy. Of course I had a friend who is an Iowa farm native help and I made sure to give him the heavy end of both crates. :P Sorry had to throw in my $.02 wor...

My favorite vendor!

These people are my favorite. Maybe because I order late in the afternoon and get the stuff the next morning as they are only about 125 miles from me. Hopefully I can attend their flyin this year and look over all the RV's to get some ideas.

These folks will treat you right. :)

It is great

Hello, I haven't posted before but am working on an RV7A and watch the boards for ideas and pointers. I bought the DRDT-2 head and built the frame from plans that come with it. The head was $137.50 I believe. It is one of my best investments, right next to the pneumatic squeezer. :) All the dimples ...
