Finishing after finishing
I'm just about done with the fuselage kit. Yesterday, I received my firewall forward kit and my wiring harness from Van's. I'm scratching my head as to what to do next. Opinions?

Thanks CJ! Since my last posting, I did some investigating. Being the chicken that I am, I was intrigued by powered panels at Aircraft Spruce: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/el/powerpanels.html Apparently these panels have everything built in. Just hook up the wires and Presto! Sounds too good ...

You're not the only one with boo-boos. I drilled that whole line (and the same one on the other side) to #30 before realizing my mistake. My RV now has two lines of 1/8" rivets instead of 3/32" rivets. Not one person visiting my shop and looking at my project has noticed. Oooooh, I so glad to hear ...

My good friend and fellow RV-9 (no A) builder, Dean Eiland was helping me with the inventory by highlighting the list as I pulled out the parts. I kept on saying "Hey Dean, I ain't found that six thousand dollar part yet!". When I got to the bottom of the box, I felt like someone who just finished a...

Finish kit has arrived!
My finish kit is here!! On Friday, I called the trucking company in my home town about the status of my kit and they said "Oh yeah, it's been here in our warehouse for couple of days now. We should be delivering it by Tuesday next week." Being the impatient person I am, I said "How about if I come g...

I'm concerned about the same thing Brian. Right now in the project, it's pretty much "do this, now do that" in the plans. My finish kit is coming next week, but I know that eventually the umbilical cord will be cut and I will own on as to what to do next. I plan to try to find 3 or 4 builders who ha...

Many moons ago, while I was waiting for my tailkit to arrive, I was bored and started collecting email streams from one of the yahoo groups. Here's one on the RV-7 vs RV-9:

It depends on what kind of flying you want to do. I have a Cessna 172 and just love going on long cross countries. I like the long glide on approach and the overall stability with the Stol kit it has. It's a creampuff of an airplane to fly. This is how the 9-A is. Easy to fly, easy stall, long glide...
