I talked to Thielert yesday. Very interesting, they get a few enquiries every day on installing diesel engines on a RV airplanes. Man, you guys are lucky $4.00 per gallon avgas. Today I've paid 1.94 Euro here in Germany. That is $ 2.37 - Per Liter !!!. Calculates to about $9.00 per Gallon. To fill up 40 US gal sets you back $360.
