Is there a chart somewhere with a a list of rivet sizes and their corresponding oops rivet size? Example: You installed a MS20426AD4-5 countersunk rivet that for whatever reason you had to remove and you blew out the hole. The next diameter is 5/32" if the material is thin and you can not counter s...

Re: Rivet Size Question...

OK, this is probably a dumb question, but am I using this rivet size gauge correctly? I never used a gauge, but I would venture to guess it would be correct. Once you do enough riveting, you will be able to tell just by looking if the rivet you stick in the hole is too short or long. And since I'm ...

Thanks for the quick response. So the plans call for AN470AD4-6 rivets for those parts. Would that mean I need a 1/8 bit? Seems to fit perfectly in the pre-punched holes :dunno: Number 30 drill bit is what you need for a 1/8'' rivet. 1/8=.125'', #30=.1285". you need a slightly larger for clearance.

I was looking at a couple of days for EID since that is a holiday for us. But then again even waiting until evening during Ramadan to drink a few beers is better than not having any beer at all like it is here.

I'm an Air Traffic Controller too in sunny Qatar! Not many light aircraft there to make me jealous of others flying though luckily!! Nice premium terminal Qatar Airways has there, just been through there at the end of June and about a week and a half ago on my trip to and from Thailand out of Kuwai...

Re: Another tip on F-705G's

All I could find that were long enough were AN426AD4-11's. A look back on the plans DWG 25 confirmed these were actually supposed to be AD4's. While looking over the HW list of BAG 1990-1 there was a note next to the AN426AD4-11's that these were to be cut to -10's. Weird place to put that note! It...

He isn't an innovator? no, I dont think he is an innovator based on the following definition>> 'An innovator or pioneer (pronounced /ˌpaɪ.əˈnɪər/) in a general sense, is a person or an organization who is one of the first to do something and often opens up a new area for others and achieves a...

Maybe he isn't so much foolish, as he is an innovator and dream chaser without any way of knowing what he is doing wrong. He isnt an innovator, Orville and Wilbur were the innovators. They went through all the learning curves that led the world to where we are today. Six months of 'research' on the...

not being familiar with that rivet, but gonna take a stab in the dark here.

I would guess you could probably drill a #40 hole, then dimple it with a 3/32" dimple die then step drill the hole to your final size.

Try it on a piece of scrap metal first.
