Re: Ignition systems - truly independent?

That's why I run a slick mag + PMag. If the p-lead wire fails to the slick mag, it keeps on making sparks. The potential of better fuel burn or a smoother engine isn't worth the risk of converting both to electronic ignition. I believe its well proven the most benefit comes from the first electronic...

Re: RivetBangers - the free site

$3.99/month - get it right! And I use the same server to host rvplane.com, tailnum.com and a couple other personal projects.... I think the only other expense is the domain names (rivetbangers.com/net) at a whopping $25.04/year for both. I do this to keep the information alive. When Spike stopped bu...

Re: Black Otter 2023

It pains me to say it, but I will be skipping OSH this year. Too many other things happening for me to squeeze it in. The RV will be in the general area for the next two weeks at KSGS (South St Paul, MN) and then headed to KBUU for some R&R at a lake house.

Lots of pics please!!

Re: textured floorboard

I was going to order some carbon fiber mat and run some experiments. Ideally I would like a smooth coat which is 100% transparent. I was thinking of applying multiple skim layers of epoxy over the finished product and then see if I could smooth it out. Nothing is more durable than epoxy!

Re: textured floorboard

I had pretty terrible carpet in my RV which has been getting in worse and worse shape after 10 years and 1000 hours. I finally just tossed it out and replaced it with some cheap wood I used as just a template for making out of something nicer. You've got my thinking here though - I may buy some carb...

Recent Topics are back!

What was supposed to be a simple upgrade of the Recent Topics extension upgrade (listing the most recent posts, listed at the top of the main forum), ended up requiring manual database interaction and a little luck. Seems to be back in order now! You can adjust how many topics are listed here (I cha...

Re: finally - an accurate tire inflator

I've had great luck with the $9.99 Harbor Freight inflator (https://www.harborfreight.com/pistol-grip-tire-inflator-with-gauge-68270.html). I have one at home and one at the hangar. Over the past 10 years the one at home had developed some leaks in the body, and the one at the hangar's hose was degr...

does this stuff work with tubes? any concern about the valve stem seam seal becoming "unsealable" over time?
Per their youtube channel, yes, as long as the valve is removable:

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

Steve,

Do the tires have any sealant in them? Maybe that could help you with your loss of air pressure? When I used to ride mountain bikes, we swore by Stan's:

https://securedragon.net/ has been a great hosting platform. $3.99/mo for unlimited bandwidth and 500GB of storage. Their tech support is extremely responsive and quick to fix all little issues.

Hey, it always will be too!

Best $3.99/month I spent to host this on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) - along with http://www.rvplane.com and http://www.tailnum.com and many other skunkworks projects :) .

Re: Zizzo Liberte - folding bike

Getting a foldable bike has been on my to-do list for a while. Potomac Airpark (W35) is a short distance from the C&O canal towpath. The longer I have the RV, the more and more I need reasons to fly it. All of the local restaurant runs have got boring over time. Back when I was looking at folding bi...

It says I don't have permission on that forum!
Bruce,

I think I am a little rusty in creating new forums, considering the last time I added a forum was when the RV-14 came out!

I think I got the RV-15 forum permissions squared away - can you check again please?

I just changed the size of the thumbnails to full size for this plugin. Seems to work much better? Also, to use PostImage to attach pics to this forum, you don't need to upload from a file - you can copy and paste the pictures from other websites. On windows, after I have copied the image to the cli...
