Radio display trouble-Bendix King

I have the Bendix King 97 radio. Very similar to the Icom 200. When installed I only get one half background lighting up on the display. If I pull the radio and have my avionics person set it up on the bench I get full brightness. I have checked the pins responsible for the display and have the righ...

Thanks you guys. I didn't think there was enough look to put the hole there but looks pretty reasonable. Since I asked the question I have seen several builder sites where the hole has gone through the horiz stab spar. I would prefer to do it the way you guys did and leave the spare alone. Thanks fo...

wire route for strobe to rudder

I am looking to run my strobe cable to the rudder. Is it acceptable to go through the spar of the vertical stab?? I don't see any other spot to make the hole otherwise.

CJ thanks. In Canada I think we must have a Gasolator so it can pass inspection. Will have to see what my lacal RV builders did with this problem. I got the Andvair valve so if I have to get the Gasolator then I think I would go with the Andair one also. Gary

Gasolator for IO-360

I just got the firewall forward kit for the injected 360 and I don't see any gasolator in the drawings. Has anyone done this installation with a gasolator?

Hi Chad Thanks I have talked to several RV builders here in the area and they all seem to remember the axel ends of the gear legs arriving with the holes already drilled. The email is already off to Van's and will follow up with a phone call tomorrow morning. Wanted to get the little honey on it leg...

RV 7A main landing gear hole

On the main gear legs, the brake/backing plate collar is secured to the axel with a bolt that goes thru the axel. I don't so far see any info in the drawing which tells you where to locate this hole. It is a pretty big whole, I would like to get it right the first time. Thanks G

Thanks everybody. I see the angle valve engine is perhaps a challenge so I will get the numbers and see what the folks at Van's can tell me. I am inclined to try to make it work. I believe these have been used frequently in the RV7s just a question how much extra fanagilling to make it work. Thanks ...

angle valve IO-360 question

I am building an RV7A and I have a chance at an angle valve IO 360 engine. I had initially considered 320 0r 360 with carb but this engine presented itself. I have the cowl and mount for the o-360. Anyone know if the IO-360 angle valve engine will fit those cowls and mounts??
Thanks Gary

P-mag E-mag

Anyone aware if there are P-mag or E-Mag set up for 6 cylinder engines?? I have a buddy on the field with a Lancair with a 6 cylinder Lycoming and he is interested in going with electronic ignition. His engine is 540 ci and is using 15 gallons per hour so he is interested in anything to help with th...

OK I will do the packing slip/bag boogie again. I know once I scrounge up these darn rivets the right bag will magically appear. The QB issue hasn't been a problem for me. The fuselage I think was assembled very well. Wish I could consistently pound rivets that well. Thanks for your comments. Regard...

Lost rivet

Tearing my hair out looking for some odd sized rivets for RV7 QB. The number is I think: AN 426-4-10. These are flat head and pretty long and go in to the edge of the fuselage just behind the roll bar on the tip up. I usually try to locate the part number and bag on the packing list. Should be there...
