I have a pair of HID lamps and drivers that I recovered from a friends car before we destroyed it, and I hooked one up in the hangar the other day... the thing is BRIGHT. I need to find some suitable reflectors for it and scope the power supply with them running to start thinking about noise mitigat...

#10 screw dimple die that's pullable?
I realized that I failed to drill and dimple the screw holes in my aft skins that hold my rudder cable exit chafe tube adel clamps. Now that the structure is complete, I'm not sure how to go about doing that. Is anyone aware of a die similar to a pop-rivet no access dimple die, but for a #10 screw? ...

Shrink tube labeler
I want to label all my wiring as I put it in, and I don't have one of those fancy machines that writes all down the length of the wire like the big boys. I bought a Dymo Rhino 5200 industrial labeler from here: http://www.labelcity.com/eonline/Itemdesc.asp?ic=1756589 I specifically bought it because...

When aviation nickels and dimes you...
it does so $1000 at a time! I'm at the stage of the RV where I have to start buying lots of little "insignificant" items, that all collectively add up to a crapton of money. All the little concessions in the plans that few of us seem inclined to want to make, such as the brake tubing pitot and the g...

Chad, looks great! One thing though... If I were you, I would put my name in the corner of those pictures. I once heard a story that for YEARS someone claimed to be building an RV-7 and they were simply stealing somebody else's pictures off their website!!! Imagine the audacity! :o CJ What exactly ...

I definitely have to do the extended one, because I want the horizontal induction ram air scoop. Are you running the saber extension on your WW? How much was it, and do you have to buy a second set of ridiculously expensive prop bolts? If so, how much is that extra set of bolts? I'm pretty much set ...

James cowl it is; damn the torpedoes, four bells. Those of you keeping score at home, a full cowl kit delete (hinges and all) is $860 credit for a -7. The James cowl is $950, airbox $125, plenum $425. I may take a stab at making my own plenum rather than shell out... depends on my money/time ratio w...
