Bruce, don't sweat drilling all the firewall penetrations. Popping the complete mount with engine and gear only took a few minutes. My non-standard throttle quadrant had me routing the cables completely different. It would have been a mistake to drill before the engine was hung. http://i92.photobuck...

Not much flying lately.

Been busy recovering from a Dam failure. One of our Rubber spillways ruptured and drained the lake.

somedays, I think a -9A would be ideal. Jenny, my daughter is starting lessons....in a traumahawk. Kris is thinking about it also.

My -7 is not a trainer.

Might as well order that prop, they're not getting any cheaper. Plus they make great wall art until you're ready to hang it

He got shafted at work again the other day. Apparently he drew the short straw and had to do some seat time in a B-17. New guy duty must be rough at the EAA. :)

New pitot on to market

Scott Brown has built a new sleek Pitot for his Rocket. It has an integrated mast and mount. Looks fantastic. If I were building I might want to have one. Not sure the best way to contact him I know him from Facebook under "RV Nation". https://www.facebook.com/groups/VansRVNation/ He may be looking ...

I have MR16 75W halogen in the tips. I have no idea how well they work at night. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l40/Hydroguy2/RV7build/RV-7build1107.jpg I do not fly at night so only have them to be legal and for recognition during dawn/dusk. I might upgrade them to a 55W HID or a new LED at some...

4 months and several long XC's after I posted my initial thoughts on A/P. figure out which servo's you need and put the mounts in place. Mine is broke and now wish it were working. I hand fly everything and enjoy it...BUT last week when I went to Utah the smoke haze was getting almost IFR. A wing le...

....My -7 will not be obsoleted by it nor would anyone Else's. The -14 appeals to another type of individual. I am fine with the size of the -7 cabin, it's fuel consumption, performance and aesthetics. I bet everyone else who has a -7 feels the same way. PERHAPS, the -7A crowd MIGHT feel differentl...

I got censored on VAF, the above post is the exact post I put there. Apparently EAA is paying the bills for Doug, so he doesn't want to take a side. I don't find the above post to be 1 bit political, just an info to links. Guarantee that ain't happenin! 8) I was just venting. I don't care...

Perhaps. But then maybe they are wealthy, overworked, and tall? John Touche' The 14 is a nice aircraft. I looked it over in the hangar at Juneau (UNU) before the parade. At the time I was under the impression that it was a big 7A and assumed it had higher baggage limit. since Kris and I flew in a f...

I'm more than a little disappointed in VAF. Every RV owner or builder is or should be a member of the EAA. So for Doug to block a simple post with links that EAA members MAY be interested in, says to me he does not care what the members of VAF think. This latest issue and the treatment by some of th...
