Hangar door wheels

You guys have been a lot of help in the past so maybe some one might help me with this one. Just moved the RV project to a hangar and found out yesterday the sliding door jams. Looking closer I found one of the steel wheels is broken under the door. These are huge doors and the wheels roll on a rail...

Yeah, Thats a good idea. I hate to have a step between the flap and aileron or not being happy with the edge distance for the rivets. A wider hinge would be the answer. Gotta love this RB site, Thanks for the quick reply too G

flap hinge install

I am hanging the flaps/hinge to the wing. I have the QB flaps so the rear half of the hinge is already in place on the flap. When I position the flap against the trailing edge of the wing, it doesn't look like I am going to have enough hinge width to safely make my holes. If I keep the trailing edge...

engine mount type

It is getting time to order up another batch of goodies, specifically the finish and firewall forward kits. So I need to make a decision re engine and mount type. I want to use an O-360 with the hollow crank but for now set it up with fixed pitch prop but leave the door open if I choose/can afford a...

I will try backing out the rod ends tomorrow. Seems to me I only need a little to get everything to clear and I hate the idea of taking anything off the VS skins. I will let ya know how it all goes. thanks for you help you guys G

I set the rod end distances according to the plans Top 51/64 Middle 59/64 Bottom 1 inch and 1/16 measuring from the center of the rod end to the Forward surface of the rudder spar. The plans sort of look like you measure from the BACK of the spar (not easy to do with the skin on). Where did you guys...

VS-rudder conflict

I just hung the rudder on the vert stab. My travel right and left should be 35 degrees but when I get to about 30 degrees the sides of the rudder hit the inside aspect of the VS skin. I think if I shave about 1/16 off the rear edge of the VS skin I would get my full 35 degrees of travel. Have any of...

CJ no problem. I am still a little down the road from putting a panel together and just reading the technical data on the different radios doesn't always tell the whole story. The best I think is info from folks who are actually using the stuff to see what works well and what is less than perfect. I...

I think I was thinking about the SL 40. I also like the display on the ICOM tho I also heard it may not prioritize one frequency when you are in dual frequency mode.

Icom 210 vs garmin

Do you guys know what the difference is between the Icom 210 and the Garmin equivalent, I think it is SL30. It is more expensive at about $1,600. I have a buddie here who has on and he likes it. I'd be intereted in your comments Thanks G

Chad Yep That is exactly the issue. Guess I am too quick to conclude I screwed up which as you know has happened in the past. Just went over to the hangar and as you said with a gentle nudge it all seems to line up OK. Thank you and WW for taking a moment to get back to me on this. Darn thing is sta...

WW Thanks for your comments. I am not familiar with the fishing line method of alignment. I did double check the brackets to make sure I didn't switch the middle ones with the top ones but since the spar tapers toward the top I don't think you would be able to do a switch by accident. I took a coupl...
