Man, it's been forever since I worked on mine. What with moving and house projects, I have done little. Now that I'm back from OSH I've been flying a lot, which keeps me out of the shop (5+ hours in the last 24 hours!). I am getting some stick time in an RV-6 and lots of 170 tailwheel time so it is ...

Ditto on the damage - there is no pain of a freight claim, Van's will take care of it for you.

The way I see it, I should have the opportunity to damage and dent things myself :) I want to start with a clean slate!

I pushed buttons on all the major EFIS displays / units at OSH and I definitely liked the AFS best. I could walk right up and figure it out with no instruction. Maybe that's not a huge deal, as I know I could read and fiddle and figure out the others, but I just really like the display and the way t...

Manometer

I did the manometer thing, too ... just got a long section of clear tubing from Lowes and filled it partway with water and pumped up the tank with a bike pump. I think Van's says 20" of water is the right pressure ... will have to check on that. I made a pencil mark next to the level of the water, t...

What a great week. I didn't get to meet as many as you as I had hoped, but it was nice to put faces to names and get to know some Rivetbangers. Can't wait for next year. The only thing wrong with OSH this year was I NEED ANOTHER WEEK! More airplane stuff! :) T. p.s. Jim P - what about this Faith Hil...

Monday at OSH

Anyone gonna be there Monday evening? I am heading up solo tomorrow ... all my buddies from here are coming later in the week. Anybody want to meet up for beers later in the evening? I may have internet access there (depending on how the wifi goes) or you can ring me up on the cell phone from the li...

Not gone yet ... working the night shift now and debating leaving Sun PM vs. early Monday AM.
It will probably be early AM Monday, putting me there midday Monday.
Looking forward to some ribs on Tuesday!

Way OT - router question

OK, it is sorta RV related, because I want it to work in the shop! I am having the cable modem installed Friday. The "access point" - i.e. office is about 150' (max) from the shop, on the other side of the house. I need a wireless router that will enable me to use my laptop in the shop. I have done ...

I just got back from filling the skyhawk (good excuse to fly) ... 4.10 / gal, cost me 150+ to fill up. I don't worry about me as such - I will give up and quit other things before I stop flying, but I am worried about GA as a whole. I was actually thinking about that as I taxied back to the hangar t...

Sounds like there might be enough drivers ... I'll volunteer the 4runner as needed and plan to ride with someone else for now.
Spike, is the engineer position still open? :)

Chad- I have the whole week this year; gotta work overnight Sat, so I think I'll sleep Sunday AM and head up that afternoon. I finally moved into the house with the shop ... so after OSH, I can start playing catch up to you guys and begin working again! I'll check the other thread for driving stuff....

Add me in for one as a latecomer.
I can either hitch a ride with someone or drive with 3-4 people - I will be in Scholler and have an older 4Runner (could sit 3 in the back depending on size).

OT - RC airplane boo-boo

I moved a bunch of my RC planes from the basement to the hangar in preparation for moving out (no basement at the new house) ... I sort of wondered about it, but... I went flying yesterday and while in the hangar noticed all of the Monokote has wrinkled horribly! :bang: :bang: The temps have been ho...

Wow. I would like to see the shot of where they ended up - definitely off the runway, but I wonder how close they were to the trees. The thing is, nobody spoke up about how bad off they were - even well after the point where I started getting nervous! And it sounds like they were both pilots - someo...
