URL naming

Post by captain_john »

Spike, can we get a button that embeds the URL in the code and only shows a few characters of text like this?

430-01

I have seen it on other sites and it is really cool. I hate to have to go elsewhere and copy and paste it!

Yah... yah... yah... I know, I did it above.

What I am saying is if we had a button that gave us the prompts to fill in the dialog box and have the software do it for us, I could be done with my plane by now and you could be onto your second rib!

Spike, you said I should rephrase this, but I don't know what you don't understand.

It seems pretty clear.

You want something where you can push a button and paste a url. Well, we have a button up top, you can press it, paste the url, and the press it again.

Whats different between that and what you are looking for?

After you use this button it leaves:

http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/newsitems/ ... 23fss.html

With Dougs, you are prompted for an alternative text display so it appears like this instead:

FSS Complaint Line Link

WAAAAAY Bettah!

Meaning im at hour 14 for the day. We are in a pinch to get this project finished up and out of the door. Im a tech lead on a team of about 13. The day gets taken up with helping them out, so sometimes I work into the evening to get my own stuff done. I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope to get home early on Friday and work on the RV. I need to make some more progress for my own sanity.

I understand.

I dare say that I am busier in the summer than I am during the school year.

Today I spent half the day (and part of the night) at school! I am working on the shop and getting it ready for the kids in September.

I wanted to get to the airport today, but no dice.

I did visit Wicked Stick today! Had to check in on his progress. We also have to visit another -8 builder to the north soon.

I am just finishing up 2 three credit courses and need to get insulation and heat into the hangar THIS MONTH!

It all won't happen, I am sure.

I need to get more fishing in before they ship outta town!!!

Where did the summer go!?!

It's gonna be 100 this week! HEAT WAVE!!!

Wow... that is ALOT!

Say, why did this thread get so many hits?

Is it because of the link to the paint thread?

CJ, intersting question! It could be it is related to the Dupont Nason link. I hadn't noticed how many hits it had till you mentioned it. I would guess it has more to do with some terms the search engines found dealing with URL, alternative, etc.
