Limp mode a concern?

A forum to alternate source of power to include Eggenfellner and other conversions.

From the position of anything is possible how hard would it be to re-right the computer software to eliminate the limp mode and just give a check engine light?

Limp mode has already been eliminated, and there is a warning light.

I gotta find out how many sensors there are, and how many of them could cause a potential problem. :?

The likelyhood of all of the sensors going belly up at the same time is less than your chance of winning the lottery. I think the one sensor that could turn you into a glider would be the crank trigger, which as Spike mentioned, is usually a hall effect (basically a magnet), and I don't think I've ever heard of one going bad.

I have. BMW has had quite a few of them fail on some of their motorcycles.

Its not the magnet that goes bad it is the sensor that detects the magnetic field go by.

Learn somthin' new every day :)

I guess the main question we should be asking here is what kind of engine management is being used on the Egg soobies, if it is using stock sensors, and if those sensors have had any issues in any automotive application.
