Headset jack location
Hey guys,
I was just laying in bed talking to Vlad and was wondering, if I install my headset jacks in the boost pump enclosure do you think the motor would cause noise on the line?
I like the centralized location and the motor is so small, there is lots of extra space there!
What do you think?

I kept mine on the panel, below the air vents. A lot less wire to run from the radios.
However, I was looking at the fuel pump enclosure for mounting the heated seat switches. I didn't think that there was enough room under there. I ended up putting the switches between the seats and in between the wing spar carry through bulkheads. Plenty of room there and nothing to interfere with. But, you would need some sort of quick disconnect to be able to remove the seat pans, or just unscrew the jacks.
However, I was looking at the fuel pump enclosure for mounting the heated seat switches. I didn't think that there was enough room under there. I ended up putting the switches between the seats and in between the wing spar carry through bulkheads. Plenty of room there and nothing to interfere with. But, you would need some sort of quick disconnect to be able to remove the seat pans, or just unscrew the jacks.

You were laying in bed talking to Vlad *on the phone* right? Just checking...
If you follow good practice and use an insulating grommet on the phone and mic jacks, and you use shielded, twisted wires for hooking them up, I think you'd be ok WRT noise from the pump. And if that didn't work, you could probably put a filter on the pump power lines - that's the only other way I think you'd get noise.

We were up at my place in Maine Saturday night (with a few other people) and were talking about stuff as we were waking up.
When N357JS is done, we will have to do a big RV bash up there! Who is coming?
Anyways... I am going to give that location a try. Being that the Andair pump (as I understand it) is a brushless motor, the noise should be minimal.
The harness will be already done by the fine folks at Approach, so methods and materials should be ok as well.
I am going to give it a try. What the heck, this is part of the experiment... Right?

John Id think you would be alright if you used good wiring practices. Keep them in separate looms, used jacketed / shielded cable, I think youll be ok.

I was looking at this, and again on your website. I really like those switches! Putting them there means less clutter on the panel, too. So where did you get them? Did they come with your seat heaters? As long as I'm asking questions, I'm curious about your seat heaters, too. What did you end up buying?
The switches came with the seat heater pads. I got them from an auto supplier. I rewired the supplied harness to make the lengths customized to my installation, and used tefzel wire and Fast-on terminal connectors.
Until they are fully installed and verified to work correctly, I won't give any recommendations. There are lots of vendors out there, and I bought these mostly based on size and price.
