EFIS Comparison

Post by svanarts »

I've been trying to do some comparison shopping among the big 3 in the EFIS market for experimentals. Blue Mountain, Dynon, and Grand Rapids Tech. I came up with a feature comparison that I posted here:

Anyone care to take a look and tell me what I missed or what I got wrong? I'd like to come up with a fairly comprehensive feature comparison before I make a decision. Thanks for your help!

Yeah, once I made the list up, that's really the one I'm leaning toward. I like the GRT unit but it's a bit spendy for this poor yank. If the BM Lite would add an AOA I'd be completely sold.

I think the GRT compares more to the BMA Sport. About the same price, although the GRT is a little bigger. If you are going to fly IFR in Mountainous terrain (not me), the BMA's virtual terrain display would be nice. I like the GRT a lot. They are adding XM wx, terrain, and traffic capabilities too.
