Placement of Dynon ECD-10A Remote Compass

Post by dahugo »

I'm building an RV-9A.

Dynon's remote compass, as well as others I'm sure, requires mounting it away from Ferrous metals and electronics. The only place I can think of right now is slap dab in the middle of the fuselage on some kinda plastic mount.

I welcome all ideas, however, from those who have installed a remote compass in a metal aircraft.

I'm justa scratchin' my head at this point.

I wish I had seen your location of the remote compan a year ago! I mounted mine below and the bulkhead in front. Much more complex than the way you did it and @#$%^ harder to install! If I have problems with mine it will be mounted where yours is!
