Basic Wiring diagram for RV7

Post by simatos »

Can you folks suggest a basic wiring diagram for the RV7? Wiring for me is like Algebra so I am hoping a clear diagram would be a good first step. I expect a pretty conventional panel though i am thinking i would like a Dynon EFIS. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Gary RV7 Pitt Meadows BC, Canada

Gary, I seem to recall your name. Did you take part in one of my group buys? Was it the Governor or the Hooker Harness deal?

Anyways, have a look at this diagram:

I am using it but am deleting the backup generator. Simply delete the top portion of the diagram.

I find this diagram more detailed than Vans.

CJ

That's exactly what the doctor ordered. And i can even read it. Thanks for that. I was not on a group buy, in fact have been away from the project with other reno stuff around the house but it now looks like I can re focus on the build. Great diagram. Expect to be back on the RB site with my next construction catastrophe. Its all good, Cheers G

Good!

Glad it helped!

See B and C Specialties for all the parts called out in the diagram.

been a while since I looked at this schematic. One question: I have Plane Power alternator from Vans which is internally regulated Would I still need the Regulator/Controller item #15 in the schematic???

Gary,

You don't need an external regulator (item #15) with the Plane Power alternator. The wiring is quite simple. Check out the installation diagram from their website below:
