Anyone have any tips? I had on a long sleeve shirt but got hot and pulled up the sleeves, accidentally smearing proseal all over my arm.
Short of smearing MEK all over my arm, any experience?
I may have to wear long sleeves to work tomorrow ...
Eeeww! That's a tough one...I think mineral spirits will take it off your skin. The problem with that stuff if you get it on you, is that everything that WILL take it off, is toxic in some way or another. Pick your poison, or go long sleeve until it wears itself off...
Acetone would be my choice. Same as fingernail polish remover and it works well. Probably bad but not as bad as some of the other options. My wife has been using it for a lot of years. .... uhhh... a few years I meant honey .... and she hasn't had any issues and she is really sensitive to most stuff.

I'd go to work with proseal on my arm, I did in fact. It's really fun to tell someone you got grease on your arm and then try to rub it off with their sleeve. Really livens the workplace up.

That would work with some patients ... then the family members of the ones who are too sick to joke with would complain to administration that "the doctor had dirt and grease all over his arms!"
I think I'll just put on one of those blue gowns for most of the shift. For some reason the hospital feels the ED needs to be 60F year round - OK in the summer, but COLD in the winter! Scrubs get chilly sometimes anyway..
I didn't know you were a doctor. I KNOW doctors can be fun loving people but you're right, your patients and their families might not appreciate that sort of humor.
Of course it might be fun to walk through part of your facility where you have no patients with your surgical scrubs, trying to wipe proseal off your arms. Say this loud enough for other staff to hear, "Geez, what did that guy eat? I'll never get this stuff off!"
Nah, your plan is better. I've got some friends who are Dr's and they won't try any of my suggestions either.

I would love to be able to joke with patients ... problem is, "my" patients are not really mine - since I practice Emergency Medicine, every patient is a new patient (with a few notable exceptions!! ) and I don't have much time to build rapport. If I were in primary care or something where I got to know people I would be able to do that more.
As it is, I mess with the nurses and techs all the time. Just the other day we had one guy go lay under a sheet in one of the trauma rooms and set everything up like we'd just had an unsuccessful code in there. When Brock (a new relatively young tech) showed up for work we told him we had one to go to the morgue. They went in to take the guy down and he let his arm fall off the cart ... the other tech goes "geez, Brock, pick up the guy's arm!" and when he did the "dead" guy grabbed him by the hand. He literally jumped 6 feet - never seen anything like it. Scared the crap out of him.
