Every thing looked good until...(HS405 rib)
Every thing looked good until...(HS405 rib)
HS405 was clecoed, match drilled to the skin/spar, ran my pilot holes through the spar and 404 with good hole clearance. Looked from aft at the 405 and saw that 3 of the 4 holes were elongated badly. Not sure exactly why but I have my suspicions. Anyhow, what now? Gonna have to fit in a new 405. Since I have already match drilled the old 405 and have nice clean holes in the 702/710-714/404, will I be able use the existing holes to match drill to the new 405? Kind of been waiting for a screw- up to see how I would handle it ...kind of a relief to get that part of building over with not to think that there will be many more.
Fix for HS405 flange
Vans suggested I make a new flange. Cut off the 1 with the bad holes and fashion another - rivet it to the web and keep on trucking. I had read about this patch some where so this is my plan.
