I also have a "spare" right elevator and left flap.
tentative first steps
That's a good first step PK. My test kit consisted of the HS end rib and front spar
I was so fustrated after I screwed-up my first assembly, I almost threw the whole thing in the garbage and quit. But a call to a local builder (who came right over) calmed me down. He showed me how to drill-out the bad rivets and get everything going again. During the course of building, I had to drill-out a few more rivets

Well, Wicked Stick will be coming over tomorrow (Monday) night if you care to join us. We will be closing up my right tank. It will require you to work independently with some guidance from us. We will be busy working with curing proseal and have a time restraint while the rivets are set.
Don't expect to finish this in one night. It will take at least a couple of visits anyways. We usually get underway around 5 pm.
WS, can you bring your squeezers for PK to use?

I've officially banged/squeazed my first rivets. Last night captain_john invited me over to start construction of my tool box project from vans.
A huge thank you to Dave, Dave, and of course John. I couldn't have asked for better guidance.
In between prosealing john's fuel tank, they took turns helping me through all of the stages.
I do have one question though. You guys talk about years to get to the "canoe" stage. I was able to get there in one night!
I even sat inside and made engine noises.

By the looks of the picture, ya can tell though he's making "Auto" engine noises... Or he's still a newbie student pilot with both hands still clenched onto both handles of the Cessna yokes.Papakeith wrote:

If there were an instructor in the back of that tandem canoe, he'd be wacking the back of your head to remind you to put your hand on the throttle and the stick
All kidding aside now, it was great to meet you last night Keith, and hopefully your on your way to making a bid on E-bay
