Return line?

Post by cjensen »

First of all, what is this for? I've read about people installing them, but I'm not sure why.

Second of all, when should I install it? I'm guessing before I close up the tank, obviously. I am installing ribs, but was planning on doing the rest of the internal tank work just before closing with the baffle.

School me!

Check out the "Fuel System Schematic" diagram over in the Document Share Chad. Basically it serves as a return line from the fuel pump to deal with excess fuel that the pump has pumped.

Perfect, thanks Spike. I also just found the tutorial thread that CJ made back in November.

Note to Chad: USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION DUMMY! :bang:

I'm starting to think in terms of making things as light as possible for better performance and handling...

Yup, thought of that too the other day.

I actually feel like I'm pretty skimpy on the priming. It's no where near a transluscent layer, but typically just a light base coat, and then a second on all parts that are primed. I didn't prime any interior skins in the emp other than rivet lines, and I don't think I'm going to do any priming on the inside of the wing skins. The ribs got it, and the rear spar, but I think I'm done priming with the wings, other than the flap brace/bracket thing. We'll see...
