Thanks Chad, I'm definitely in. I had planned on purchasing belts in March, so now is good also.

Okay guys...here's the low-down on a "group" or "volume" purchase from Crow...there is not going to be one. Fred simply won't do it. Too much hassle, and I can't say I blame him.

Just order when ready...they are all custom made, and take two to three days to get ready.

I did ask him about how busy he is with RV orders...about one a day, so it's worth it for him. He took an order for an RV-8 yesterday, and an RV-7 already today, not including mine (I'm waiting another couple of days for the tax return to clear in).

So that's the word...call him up, and order when ready... 8)

Cool stuff--What do they cost? What buckle are you gonna go with? Does he just have a standard padded set? I have never seen a set in a plane, and he doesn't have any pictures on his site for planes, just the car ones. Am I right to assume they are the same?

Thanks for doing the legwork!!

They are right around $300-320 or so for the set with rotary buckle. I am going with that buckle...he has a standard package for each RV, padded, I do believe.

They are the same as the one's for cars, but the hardware is a bit different if I remember correctly. There are a lot of them flying, and I have seen several sets in RV's at Oshkosh. If they're good enough for a 300mph dragster, I have full confidence in them in my airplane...

Cool--Thanks for the update. I will give him a call.

Edit--got them ordered, with the rotary buckle and pads. Fred knows his stuff!! It was $300 plus shipping for the set.

Anybody need a nice new set of hookers? Blue belts with red pads.

I will do--he said they would go out in a couple of days. Mine will be kinda boring, my favorite color--black on black

I toyed with grey belts with black pads, but decided to go with just black.

By the way, I hate fiberglass, and I hate the west systems slow hardener even more. I should have went with the fast cure, I don't know what I was thinking :bang: Our shop is about 60 degrees, and it takes a long time to cure.

Thanks Chad. I figured it was a no-go, but worth the call.

I'll get my order in soon. I think of going with the other buckle for belly and money reasons.

I got my belts today, they look good. The buckle is very cool, my 7 year old daughter was able to use it without problem. The Hookers have more padding, I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. The Crow do not have any padding on the lap belts, the hooker ones do.

Here are some crappy pictures :)

Hey Chad, did they fit in the seat belt brackets in the plane? I had to trim my brackets to get the belts to fit. Without trimming, the brackets pinch the belt.

It seems like the brackets that bolt the belts in could be a little longer, like the vans or Hooker ones are.

They look good!!

Crow can provide longer brackets....

The problem is they will have a 1/2" hole in them so you will need to make some bushings.

Brantel, thanks for the update. I stole some from the hookers that I bought, and the stock vans set that came in the wrecked 8A that I bought. I think I will just have to trim two of the tabs now.

Mine rub juuuuuust barely, like a sixteenth to an eighth. I'm gonna keep a close eye on them to see if there is any unusual wear. If I get signs of ANYTHING, I'll be making some trims.

Wow, way to go CROW!

I forgot about ordering my belts last March, figuring I'll get them later. Well it's later and checking stuff off my list I see.... seatbelts(decide what you want and order them)...Yikes.

I called Crow Monday around noon and told them I need belts for a RV. His response was which buckle and what color and which model RV. He shipped them the same day and I got them 3 days later. Very nice and glad I splurged for the Kam lock buckle.

2 belts, kam locks w/shoulder pads and shipping $323. PERFECT

Man I am lovin my Crow's!!!

I never have to adjust my belts, set once and forget!

I would have nothing else other than the camlock!!! It is sweeet!

It allows you to keep the belts right where you want em on adjustment and super easy to get each belt latched! One twist and your freeeeee!!!

They actually look better in person than my camera photo shows. The flash washed out the red. I wasn't sure how red pads would look with the rest of my interior but the splash of color looks good on the mostly gray and black interior
