Canopy resource!

Post by captain_john »

Hey All,

I just stumbled across this Matronics WIKI style Blog about doing the canopy and thought that others here would be interested as we are all approaching that phase soon!

http://www.matronics.com/wiki/index.php ... edirect=no

(HEY! Another place for the URL button!)

Thanks to all who contributed to the WIKI!

Check it out!

We get it. Spike's been working 60+ hours per week trying to meet an insane deadline at work. Your new and improved button is in the queue; just not at the top of the queue.

(But it is higher than my laundry room bar, hanging my fruit basket and fixing the dryer circuit breaker.)

You're stressing him out -- cut him some slack. He'll get it done, he just doesn't have the time right NOW. :bang:

He's going to be deleting the website in about 5...4...3...2.....

:o

Spike's worked late (11pm on average) every night this week. He's at work today. He'll be at work tomorrow. He'll probably work late every night next week. Just be patient (I know that's not your middle name!), he'll get to it all, but he's gotta get through the end of this project first.

Patti,

No problem, I can relate... BELIEVE ME! I wasn't a teacher ALL my LIFE!

Actually, lemme tells ya... this teaching bit is no different than a "real" job. I have been doing school stuff all summer. This past week, is BRUTAL! If you look at my posts, you will see that I was up at 3 this morning because I couldn't sleep with all that I need to get done before the start of school NEXT MONDAY!!!

Okay...back on topic...

I think this is a really neat way to go about attaching the canopy! Rob Johnson (RV-7) is using this method to attach his canopy, and I'll be watching closely as he gets closer to doing it (he lives 5 minutes from me).

Great link John!

BTW, a local builder just hooked me up with his leftover Sika product for me to experiment with!

I am really interested in how to form a nice flat bead of the stuff so that it appears as smooth as glass.

How do you do that?

Hmmmm, when I find out, I will letcha know.

Capt'n, I' m interested in what you find out since I'm thinking of going the pure adhesive attach route myself.

This stuff looks to be just the ticket!

I hear that Mooney uses it. It also holds the windows in place in the HMMWV. The tech sheet claims it to be a sealant and an adhesive. Also, MANY RV's are using it with success!

All many reasons to use it!
