Center brace for 705

Post by cjensen »

I'm wondering if I need to install this center brace at the 705 bulkhead.

Image

It's the F-785A brace, and since I didn't use electric flaps, I'm wondering if there is an actual need for it to be there. The way I see it in the plans, is that it's there for support when the motor is running up or down, and gets a lot of its strength from the motor cover that is attached to the floor.

It's not going to provide any support fore or aft for the 705 since there is nothing anchoring it to the the floor (other than where it is attached at the base), and appears as tho it would only provide support if excessive downward force were put on the 705 bulkhead (we're not going to bend that channel in the first plance anyway...)

Thoughts??? :?

Chad,

I would put it in because that will prevent someone from bending the seatback brace.

95% of people not familiar with RV's will push down hard on that brace when they get in and out of the plane.

I would put it in.
