Brian,

I can't tell from the pics but did you safety the pick-up tube nut?

These aren't mine. They belong to a 9a builder. I saw his picture and noticed the pick up tubes both pointing the same direction. It didn't seem correct to me. My pickup tubes looked as mirror images, which puts both tubes near the quick drain. I'm thinking "did I put my together wrong or are these incorrect."

Also With the anti rotation brackets, the nuts don't need lockwired

I see proseal on the fuel sender platenuts, but not on the fuel pickup or the rivets holding the anti-rotation brackets.

And yes, the fuel pickup should be aiming down to the drain position in the tank.

He hadn't prosealed them yet, when this pic was taken. So I sent the guy a message telling him to check the tube orientation. He says they only fit one way. I suppose it will work, but I think he is leaving a bit of fuel in the tank, not sure how much.

I agree with your concern - the way he has those oriented, one will have the pickup tube aiming 'uphill' and not toward the rear tank baffle. There will be a significant reduction in usable fuel in that tank.
HE can rotate one of the tubes, but will need to be so the pickup ends are close to the rear and by the bottom skin.

That is completely incorrect. I don't like to say things that authoritatively but I don't think that is cool. He really needs to flip that around.

Spike is correct. The one on the left needs to have the pick-up tube rotated 180 degrees. The fitting that the anti-rotation bracket is preventing from turning must be loosened and then the tube will rotate.

Building a 9A with too much fuel and too much engine - should drop dead any minute now.

Tell him to think "mirror image" Hold the one on the right up to a mirror and make the left look like that.
