HS 609PP small cracks radiating from some holes

One of my HS 609PP has about 3-4 holes that after polishing appear to have small cracks radiating out of them. I am not sure how well the picture will show my situation. I have used a fine 3M roloc wheel on them and have spent a little time on the area and I cant see much progress.

My questions are

1. Has anyone encountered the problem?
2. If so were you able to polish down below the cracks?
3. If you did, what abrasive did you choose to accomplish this?

That's not good my friend. I would contact Van's for replacement on that part.

This is the reply I got from Van's

"What you see in the HS-609PP is just surface imperfections in the material, not cracks. It is OK to polish them out if you wish, but don't go more than .015" deep. They don't effect the strength of the structure at all, so you can leave them alone."

I have polished them out so it looks like I am good to go. I just needed to be more agressive with my polishing tool choice.

It is a good feeling though to have heard others agree that it didn't look right. At least I am not being paranoid. (At least not yet)
