Hey all, what is your biggest time saving tip?
I am doing ALOT of countersinking lately and have only recently prchased a SECOND microstop countersink and am THRILLED that I did!
I keep a -3 in one and a -4 in the other and just fine tune each one as needed.
It is really a luxury!
The little things in life, ya know?

I am right there with ya! Three cages for countersinking...
Here are a couple more that I like in my shop-
Two air lines,
At least two cleco pliers out at any time,
Two jugs full of clecos of both 30's and 40's, one on each side of the garage,
MOST IMPORTANTLY! A CLEAN, WELL ORGANIZED (ALL THE TIME) SHOP!

you know me, anything worth doing is worth overdoing! I have two cages that I bought new and a third that already has the sides cut off for tight spaces that I got out of a $5 bin at oshkosh
three pairs of cleco pliers.
Not so sure about that whole 'organized shop' thing though... where do I get one of those?!

Without a doubt, the biggest time saver EVER is.....
NOT MESSING UP A PART.
I screwed up my lower longeron over the July 4th weekend. I didn't get the replacement until July 25th! If I would of measured everything out, I would of seen that the dimensions Van's gave were wrong and saved myself 2 weeks of downtime. So, I guess this goes back to the old saying, measure twice, cut once.
I don't think a second countersinking cage would save me all that much time. When I have a lot of countersinking to do, I do all of the countersinks for the 3/32" dimpled holes at once, then the 3/32" riveted hole, 1/8" dimpled, 1/8" riveted. Only need to set up the cage once per few hundred countersink operations. A second countersinking cage would be nice sometimes, but I need all the engine/prop/avionics money I can keep!

Brad,
<RANT>
I usually get my parts in 2 days from Van's - USPS is the cheapest and fastest way to get the smaller parts (i think < 3 feet). Now, granted the lower longeron was like 5' long, so they needed to UPS ground it, making it more like 7 days. However, Van's didn't ship the item until over a week from when I ordered it! I think they needed to cut it separately, as it is not an off the shelf item. If I knew that, I would of moseyed over to the other side of town where I can buy the raw material.
