Went to see the local aircraft spary painter here on the base I work at. I asked them if they would mind priming some parts for me if I slipped them a few cartons of beer (Aussie currency) every now and again. They said they would be happy to. They use PPG Primers so this is good. Everywhere the plane is going to live in Australia is close to the ocean so I will need to prime (not overboard) most bits to stop the onset of corrosion.

They were painting a PC-9 whilst I was there. Was great to watch them work. They will have the priming done in about 5 min compared hours for me.

Now that would be nice. Drop them off and pick them up. I could get used to that. I don't mind priming but it seems to take a lot of time. I do like the results, always looks nice when you get done. Be eve nbetter if someone else was shoting it though!

You've just removed one of the most time consuming procedures (at least for me), so well worth the few cases now and then. I have such a small shop that doing any kind of spraying involves a significant setup time, and now with colder weather, it really isn't practical given the volume of fresh air that has to be warmed to keep the fumes out of the rest of the house. You got a good deal there, keep em happy.
