I'm gonna set out to spray some paint on my wingtips, emp tips, and gear fairings soon, and I plan to use a rattle can. I know, I'm going cheap for this, but these are parts that will be on and off the airplane, and I don't want to spend a bunch of money painting parts that may need to be touched up from time to time. The rest of the airplane is going to be polished, and the cowl and spinner are going to be sprayed with Stewart Systems paint.
So, what sort of rattle can paint would be the best to try on the rest of the fiberglass?
Wingtips, emp tips, gear fairings...
If I were going to do that Chad, I would consider using the Rustoleum you can get in a quart can at the home stores. It sprays very well when thinned as per the directions. It is actually pretty good paint.
This would give you much better results than a spray can.

Hello Chad,
Where I'm located we have Fleet Farm, they offer Valspar Tractor Restoration paint in both spray cans and quarts / gallons.
I have used this paint on a few internal aircraft parts with good success.
Another spray can paint that works well is Krylon Fusion, they use a improved spray nozzle on the Fusion can and it sprays great.
On most spray cans the nozzle is the weak link causing poor spray performance but Krylon has it sorted out with this nozzle.
