I just love my family!

Post by BrickPilot »

My daughter (she and her husband and 2 kids live with us) and my wife were talking about a new couple in our congretation today. They mentioned that he is a flyer fresh out of the Navy, 30 something. "Gee," I mused, "maybe I should think about taking him on as a partner - he can finance the engine and avionics."

"Papa," said my daughter stoically... "You know that you wouldn't have complete control over the plane choices, paint scheme, etc."

"Plus," my wife chimed in, "You might not be able to take the plane out whenever you wanted."

I sat there smiling as they listed off nearly a dozen reasons why I must be the sole owner of the plane, without considerting any sort of partnership.

Man, I am one lucky guy to have a family like this.

I'm sure our new neighbor/pilot won't mind bucking a few rivets once in a while if he gets a ride when it's finished. 8)

Jeff, you're a lucky man. Sounds like they are very supportive. My wife is also very supportive and I don't think this would be much fun if she wasn't.

How's the shop coming? Photos?

Shop is nearly complete. Need to paint the inside, then get the finish electrical and HVAC work done, then pour a sidewalk/driveway, and then I can order my tail kit! (and build the air system, and work tables... and... and... ) :)

That's GREAT Jeff!! I also have a supportive wife, and agree with John that this could not be done, let alone fun, without the family support!
