It's a canardinal with struts. Actually a friend designed a cardinal pusher with a canard. Looked pretty cool!

I was at the Concord NH airport a few weeks ago and came across an airplane with the same mod -

This airplane also has a completely different wing with leading edge cuffs and full-span slotted flaperons -

It's a very heavily modified 182 called a Wren. It's not too often that I come across an airplane I don't recognize, but this one took me by surprise.

It prompted me to do a little bit of research. Seems that the Wren was the predecessor of the Katmai!
