Any of you west coast RV'ers planning on making it over to Watsonville this week-end for the fly-in? My wife actually said she wants to try another flight!! We are planning on flying in on Friday afternoon, pitching a tent next to the RV and spending the night. We will most likely head out after the show on Saturday.

If anyone shows up feel free to stop by and say hello. We will be in the camping area most likely next to a bunch of spam cans. Oh well, they do make for great shade during the day...

Dale -

Since my wings aren't done yet.. I'm thinking of driving over (it's only ~ an hour away...).

Lorin,

If you drive down, please feel free to stop by. Again, I will be in the camping area. I should have a cool beverage available and possibly an open chair.

Hope you make it.

Guys -
I thought it was great too!!
Unfortunately I did not get a chance to talk with the owner/pilot.
However, I did take a few more pics ... see below
(I did not post earlier since I didn't want to totally hijack this thread).
The registration number is N39SK - built by Stephen Normand out of Placerville, CA.
It was SWEET!!!

Very nostalgic!

Kinda reminiscent of an old Swift!

Very cool!

Chad, have you changed your paint scheme again? I may have!

 CJ

Nope (well, it has changed slightly-painted wings instead of polished). Scheme is the same, I just keep fidgeting with trim colors...

Lorin,

Sorry we missed you also. Gayle and I flew in Friday afternoon and enjoyed walking around looking at the planes. We had fun dancing to the band, watching the air show and fireworks.

When we got up the next morning, without much rest (long story but I am guessing the bar closed at about 2:00 A.M. based on the noise in camping), Gayle decided we should just fly home and beat the departing crowd in the afternoon. So that most likely was me taxing out. Sorry, but I have to keep the wife happy so I can go to more fly-in’s.

Dale (& Gayle) -

I know it's cliche.... but I've learned.
If the wife ain't happy - then NO ONE is happy!!

You planning on Golden West??
If so - I'll try to look you up there.
