God Bless Chicago

Post by spikescopilot »

Actually, Chicago is the most cursed city on the planet. It is the City of Evil -- I can speak on this authoritatively. Thanks to the wonders of mobile wireless inTARweb (God Bless Cingular), I'm typing this as we're crawling through this h*ll hole run by the evil spawn of the Daly family.

Yes -- I'm bitter. :x

We paid our $2.50 toll 35 minutes ago and have just finally managed to travel a whole 3 MILES. No, I'm not kidding. Given the state of Route 90, I'm not entirely sure what our $2.50 actually pays for. OH WAIT -- WE JUST HIT 30 MPH.

In any case, our Osh-bound rivet banging friends, we're on our way -- we promise. But we might be a little late. :lmao:

Chicagooooo...

Seems that I chose to skirt the city, last I drove out there. There is a perimeter road to the west???

I don't remember incurring a toll either!

It's all over but the flying! 800+ hours in only 3 years!

And for the real kicker to tranisents -- the toll is double compared to those who use the I-pass electronic pay system. So much for tourism!

LOL!!! TShort called and said the same thing about Chicago, but he said he knew a bypass. He did arrive late last night and is staying in Camp Sholler. Andy G and his wife Christina called last night as well and they were just passing through Madison.

Boy is that ever right. We drove up and it took about 5 hours. I was thinking that wasn't to bad as many have to drive much further. On Wed a friend flew his new RV8 in which he now has 70 hours on. Talking with him he mentioned he had 60 minutes from takeoff to wheels down. :o

Made the drive home even longer. I kept thinking well I would have been home X number of hours ago in an RV. :bang:

Chicago to Osh

Post by aparchment »

I drove from Chicago, Midway to Osh on Thursday morning at 9 am and made it in just under 3 hours. I would have made it a little faster, but I got tied up in some slow moving traffic around Chicago.

I learned my lesson about Chicago this OSH...

NEVER EVER book a 5pm flight out of the Chicago area in the summer. My 5:05pm flight went wheels up at 12:30am on Thursday, correction, Friday morning.

Oh yea, the tolls suck!
