JohnR, a color scheme such as that green one might make sense given the name that you have chosen.

I've been searching the internet since yesterday to find the pic of a guy's 172 that IS painted JD green and yellow! Anybody seen it??

Spike, no JD green on my airplane!
I think I would leave it unpainted first. If someone else wants to paint theirs that color it is fine though.
Chad, I've seen the airplane you are talking about on the web somewhere but couldn't find it so posted the RV-JD instead.
