The ending is pretty funny, but I sure feel for the pilot prior to that. :o

What whas that nosegear made out of, a toothpick? It didn't look like he hit that hard to me.

I better stick to tailwheels. I haven't knocked one of those off yet.

Kind of like the day I was sitting at a red light. Cross traffic was from a freeway off ramp. The cars coming off the freeway stopped but suddenly a tire came rolling across the intersection just as pretty as you please. About a second behind it was a teenage kid in hot pursuit! It was kinda surreal and funny at the same time.

PS. Two cars back at the cross-street's red light was a pickup truck with only three tires. Don't know how he got out of the truck so fast. Ah to be young again.

Actually I did that once. I was heading to the airport when I was yong and worked loading for a crop duster. Driving down the road about 50 mph minding my own business and all of a sudden the right front tire and wheel departed my old Ford 4 wheel drive. It gets the adrenaline going! The wheel rolled over a quarter of a mile past where I got the truck stopped. :o I was just glad it happened when no one was coming as I didn't have much control.

I just feel bad for the poor bastard who now has a damaged plane.

On the topic of loosing a wheel:

I lost the rear wheel off of a loaded 18 ft box truck once. Thankfully I was at a stop light when it let go. I rolled forward when the light turned green and the whole truck shifted hard to the left :o It could have been worse, I had just gotten off the hiway about 1/4 mile earlier.
