I got my medical!

I turn 40 soon, so I wanted to have this medical last for 3 years. I went today and passed with a clean bill of health!
I have been going to the health club or running everyday this summer (except for 3 days) because I wanted to prove to myself that I could be disciplined, lose 10 pounds or so and have perfect blood pressure and sugar levels for my medical.
Mission accomplished! Now I can have that colon stopper steak again!

What is your status? Will your most recent incedent impact your applicability in the future?
I had someone else mention to me that they were concerned about getting theirs due to kidney stones. I didn't know that was a factor!?!

Yes, kidney stones can affect your ability to renew your medical depending on history and occurances.
As for me, I am currently not flying for a few weeks per my primary care physician. I expect that to be lifted without issue. Renewing at the end of this year will most likely require a Special Issuance because of the drug Im on. That entails paperwork, blood testing, etc. The good news is that there is a protocol for this and that as long as I can get my "INR" numbers stabilized (so far so good on this front) I should be able to get the issuance without too much trouble. Once Im off the drug life should return to normal.

...or as normal as it ever was!
Cool, glad to hear that it won't be much of a hassle!

Great to hear that Spike! It's nice to know that there IS protocol that actually works someplace in the world! We certainly can't find it here!
When you get back in the air, just fly, and don't worry about the renewal until the time comes...won't do you any good!

I agree with Chad. Take care of yourself, do what you need to do and don't worry about it.
CJ, my current medical is good for another year but I will turn 40 this year too so I am gonna renew before then too. I will end up with a 'free' 8 months.

I heard from someone that they were going to double all medical time periods. Does anyone know more about this?

I heard the same thing!
I also heard that it won't happen for at least a few more years.
Don't know much more, but if it's true... I like it!
