I recall someone selling a smoke machine. It is an oil injector for your exhaust.
You install the reservoir in the baggage compartment and run a line to your cowl. It shoots oil onto your hot exhaust and VIOLA... smoke!
Anyone recall a link to this anywhere? I seem to think it was made by an RV builder.

Nothing quite like an RV-9 throwing smoke while straight and level *snicker*

THAT'S IT!
Good find!
That setup looks cool! I think I may retrofit it in after the build. What do you all think about it?

I can see it now "Honey, hold on, were going upsided down for a bit." Patti gets sick in steep turns much less all the way over. Think Ill stick with my 9. The smoke idea is a cool one though.

You do get a better view of the ground in the inverted config!
I told my wife that when she is aboard, I will start no sentences with, "Hey, watch this!"

My hangar mates made their own system using a winshield washer pump, a simple tank from Northern, braided hose, AN fittings and some other simple components. I bet they didn't cost more than $250 to build.

Hi,
There is a BIG difference between smoke and smoke! A friend of mine recently modified the smoke system on his Pitts as it was a bit weak....
He´s running a high pressure pump (somewhere around 8psi I believe) that delivers 4-6gallons of smoke fluid through an adjustable valve into the nozzle.
We used quite a bit of time to set the system up for the best smoke and the least mess on the plane (read oil on the belly).
