I got five hours in a champ over yesterday and today, and I'm officially and legally competent to fly taildraggers!
I had an absolute blast

sadly, I think that's going to be really hard unless I can manage to buy some sort of cheap taildragger to knock around in. Those are getting harder and harder to find!

Ian--
Congrats!
I just had my second TW lesson this morning in a Decath. RWY 16, 190 15G25. Pretty much kicked my ass. Still had a lot of fun. The hamster that powers the light build in my head is picking up speed.
Congrats again

But obviously not enough speed.

OUCH! After 7200 hrs, I'm trying to figure out how to land an airplane by not pulling BACK on the stick and you want me to worry about spelling? Besides, that was my subconscious typing...I should spend my days off BULBING (
) not flying.

Man, my input filters kept showing me
bulb until I read it more than 5 times
. I guess cause I spend so much time working with filters to block e-mail spam I don't notice my own 'input filters' at work
.

An RV-4 is a great way to stay TW current. I know where you buy one.

I'd actually love to buy a flying 4. If it's cheap enough and I can do owner financing, maybe I will!
As it is, I don't think the bank will give me another loan for an airplane while I'm already paying on one.

Glad to hear that you've been there and done that. I flew a tail dragger with out a tail once. A J3 with floats on it!
