Having fun with Mikey!

One of the things I'm enjoying the most as I continue with my project is a chance to meet some really great people. The new friends I'm making, from far and wide, mean more to me than I can put into words. You've probably heard this before, but I can't help saying it again. RV people are the greatest people in the world! And all you guys on Rivetbangers are the best of the best. So when somebody like Mike Bullock crosses the continent and is in town, for whatever reason, you just have to take advantage of the moment and invite them over to hang out for a while.

We had a great time hanging out in my shop talking about RV's. I did my best to show some good ol' Northwest hospitality. I broke out some hometown-brewed cold ones (Henry's Private Reserve, for those of you who may or may not have ever heard of this truly GREAT beer... and no, it's not fruity   ) and some snacks, including my homemade guacamole and some chips.

I think he liked it... "hey Mikey!"

This is the most fun I've had in a while, and I learned a few things, too. It's always good to have another experienced pair of eyes looking over your work and helping you out. I heard a lot of great things about those of you that I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet. Come on over to P-town if you get a chance, and I'll be happy to open my home and my shop to you, too.

Thanks for crossing the continent and coming over, Mike! I'm really looking forward to another visit sometime soon. One of these days, we'll be at some big fly-ins together.

sorry I missed it, thanks for the invite.

Family first for me on this trip.....well except for flying with Seager. Yesterday's flights were a bit challenging.

Awesome guys! Very cool when fellow RBer's meet up across the country!

I have one question tho...and this isn't going to do anything but smack myself in the face, but I'm secure enough to ask...why the hell drink anything without any fruit in it??

Hoping you'll elaborate a bit on this in a different thread... :)

Hey Brian,

It's not too late, if you can still find some time to stop by later in the week like we talked about. I'd love to have you over if you can swing it. :)

Anyone who is in the Portland, OR area definitely needs to visit Bruce. It was great meeting him and we chatted RV's and life for hours. He's really a great guy, and he made the best guacamole I have ever had in my life.

His project is the best quality I have ever seen. He is really setting the bar high for the rest of us.

Thanks for the great hospitality, Bruce. Hopefully I will be able to see you in a couple of weeks if I am back in the area for work.

Mike,

Gosh, you're knocking me out here. Thanks so much for the nice words. I honestly haven't met a better guy and had more fun visiting than I did with you. I will look forward to your return and another visit next time. Meanwhile I'll keep borrowing ideas from you. Wish I could be there to see your first flight!
