It is a super STOL Katmai conversion for the 182!
The thing is incredible!

It's a canardinal with struts. Actually a friend designed a cardinal pusher with a canard. Looked pretty cool!

I was at the Concord NH airport a few weeks ago and came across an airplane with the same mod -
This airplane also has a completely different wing with leading edge cuffs and full-span slotted flaperons -
It's a very heavily modified 182 called a Wren. It's not too often that I come across an airplane I don't recognize, but this one took me by surprise.

It prompted me to do a little bit of research. Seems that the Wren was the predecessor of the Katmai!

This Katmai has the 300hp mod too!
They tell me that it can take off and land at something like 40 knots!
