Powdercoating over powdercoating?

Hey all -
Has anybody had their steel weldments re-powdercoated? I'd like to get mine to match my cockpit interior color, but I don't know if it's possible or advisable to have those parts re-coated.
Anybody have some advice for me?

I just painted over the powder coating with my interior paint.
My RV may fall out of the sky, but I like the interior colors to match.

Dave,
I painted over the powdercoating also. Before I painted, I roughed up the powercoating finish with some sandpaper, and then cleaned up everything with acetone. The adhesion has been excellent, with no chipping or signs of failure in over 3 years of flying.
I believe if you want to re-powercoat something, all of the previous powercoat must be removed.

Thanks for the info...if the scuffed powder coat holds JetFlex that well, then powdercoating is off the table. I don't want to deal with the hassle and expense anyway.
You guys saved me a lot of trouble...Oshkosh beers on me!

Dave,
You'll have no problem with JefFlex holding up. I sprayed my rudder weldment with water-based JefFlex and it still looks great - probably the most abused interior portion of my RV!

I used Rustoleum rattle cans on the rudder pedals and the cabin cover support bar on my RV-10. It's held up for over a year so far. I imagine you will get even better results with JetFlex if the surface is appropriately prepared.

If JetFlex can take the abuse on rudder pedal weldments, then that settles it for me...thanks!
