Fresh meat!!!

Post by 801victor6 »

Hello everyone!
My name is zach, I am from north salt lake Utah, and last night I became the owner of a "pre-owned" rv6a kit.
I'm new enough that I don't even have my ppl license completed yet. But I'm getting there.
Anyway, just wanted to say what up and introduce myself as I am sure the following months/years will bring many posts from me.
See ya around!

Zach,

Welcome to RiverBangers! What stage is your 6A kit in? Feel free to ask a bunch of questions, we have a few 6A builders who frequent this site.

Thanks! It seems like all of the main components are pretty well built... the fuselage lower half is done also. I also acquired an
O-320 with it. 150hp. I would attach some pics, but the img button doesn't like iPhones...

Welcome Zach! Don't worry about PPL get the airplane done first. I took my checkride after I had airworthiness certificate for my RV9A. Couldn't stop since then. What airport are you planning to be based at? KBTF?

Hi Zak!

Always glad to have another 6A (the best looking' RV ever designed, BTW ) builder/flyer in here! I just celebrated 10 years flying my 6A last summer. I have a 150hp O320 E2D in mine as well.

Have fun with the build, and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Good to hear all the success stories.
Yes I will eventually be out of kbtf.
I need to get my garage space good and ready before I start tackling any more of this beast.

The title had me a bit confused. When I hear "fresh meat", the first thing that comes to mind is:

Speaking of which, 159 days and 9 hours to Black Otter time!

Welcome!
My daughter is doing her Doctorate currently at Univ. of Utah, so we have made several trips up there and will be planning more once the weather gets warmer. I'm sure you can find someone local to get a ride.

Get the airplane done, then worry about getting the PPL. I went about 23 years without flying and only got current when my RV-9A was in the final assembly phase. I did some rental flights to get current, then transition training and on to the first flight. Haven't stopped grinning since!
