New bbs functionality - Need help testing

Some of you may have noticed that I have been playing around with some new
functionality that I have installed on the bbs. And if you haven't that's ok,
look closely at this post and you should be able to see it. Anyway, before I
open this functionality up to everyone, I would like to have a few of you help
me beta test it. Its worked great for me, but Id like to have a few more try it
out before we open it up so that I can verify it's ease of use and document it
effectively. PM me if you want to give it a go especially if you think this
would allow you to participate more.

I wouldn't mind giving it a go. Plus, I'd like to know which mod you got to do it. I'm going to be starting a BBS for our local EAA chapter that will use phpBB. I'd look for it but I'm inherently lazy. Most sysadmins are.

I'm not sure which one it was -- Spike can help ya on that one when he gets up.
I'm surprised that more people aren't all over this. I figured it'd go over pretty well. I mean, we've essentially just turned the board into a board/email list.
Spike's been reading / posting via email since Wednesday. He was all excited yesterday morning cuz the emails look just like posts (with smilies and everything) if your email reader does HTML. (BTW, I use a text-based reader at work, and it strips all of that crap out, so no worries for you non-HTML peeps).

OK, I'll bite. How do you submit via email?

First you have to subscribe to the forum -- it's a hidden page right now. I'll ping spike to give you the URL. Once you've subscribed, all of the posts in that forum will show up in your inbox. You can reply to them and your reply will show up on the board, and you can even start completely new posts by emailing the forum address (Spike knows them all). And the kewl thing is that UBB code still works.

I sent my first reply to the RV-8 topic of HS VS Build Order and noticed that yahoo throws some advertisement junk along with my message. That kind of stinks.

Interesting, I didnt predict that. If thats as far as they go though I dont think I will complain that much. The funcionality in my opinion far outweighs that price. Ill see if I can think up of a way around that. I wonder how often that footer changes? Other than that I assume its working ok for you?
