weight added to rudder - why?

Post by A2022 »

why would you ever want to add unnecessary weight to a rudder. this will reduce the rudder flutter margin. folks think they are making it better when they are making it worse. they just don't know the fundamentals. I believe Van's should issue a SB to address this issue. adding weight to a rudder is serious business.

this airplane crashed but unrelated to rudder flutter. he came up short of the runway.
